**Students are continuing to learn about Government and we will be celebrating Mexican Culture on Friday for Cinco De Mayo. We will do activities, so we can learn all about the Mexican culture.

*Students must present the information in front of the students. They will need to give facts, pictures, and interesting information on their poster board, or visual of their choice. The rubric and sheets I sent home explain everything.

*I am teaching the regions one region at a time. We will now start learning how to label the Southeast and the Northeast region on our own. I want them to learn exactly where each state is located on a map. Our focus will be the Southeast this week. We already learned about this region, so they have labeled them in their notebooks. They will need to learn how to identify where they are located on a blank map now.
I have set up a game, so students will not need a study guide sent home.

*Due to school being out two days last week, we will continue last week’s plans. We have WOW Wednesday this week, so there will only be three full days of instruction this week. Therefore, we will make up last week.

* We will dive deep into the five regions. Students will understand the location of each region and locate each region in their interactive notebooks.

*I was not able to send the study guides home last week due to us not being ready. They will go home this week. Sometimes our schedules back up due to curriculum I had to reteach. We also focused on Science and Writing more during last weeks time block. Therefore, the same skills mentioned last week will be taught this week.
September 19th- September 23rd
* Study Guides for Labeling North America and the Caribbean will go home this week. We will cover these through out the week. We will also introduce the five regions of the United States also this week.

*Continue working with vocabulary I have sent home. Our quiz is on Tuesday, September 20th.

*Also, define primary and secondary sources as we prepare for our DBQs in writing.

* Students will receive vocabulary words on Friday. They will be tested on these words Tuesday, September 19th. These words are the academic vocabulary I mentioned under the vocabulary tab.

* We will also deepen our understanding of continents and oceans.

Students are learning about maps and globes. They will also learn a variety of vocabulary words with this unit. I will be sending home a list, so parents can look over them with their child.

-We want to learn about different kinds of maps. We will also learn about primary and secondary sources.
