***NOW UNTIL THE END OF SCHOOL WE WILL BE PREPARING FOR 4th GRADE WRITING...
***Working on our informational writing too until the end of the year! :)
April 17th- 21st
*We are writing so much! We are working on our informational writing during reading some days. We are working on our DBQ writing each week also. I have separate blocks set aside for both of these activities. Writing is key in fourth grade, so I want to have them as prepared as possible. Our DBQ is about Harriet Tubman. What was Harriet Tubman's greatest achievement?
April 3rd- 7th
*Our writing block and reading block will go together this month. We will be working on DBQ writing, and informational writing to meet writing and reading standards. This will help prepare your child for 4th grade writing.
March 20th- March 24th
*Writing is on hold this week.
*Next Week we will continue our informational reports and finish them up this quarter.
*We also will begin more DBQ writing to prepare for fourth grade this quarter.
February 27th - March 3rd
*We will continue to piece our writing together each day as much as we can. My main focus is Reading until the FSA. However, writing will always be a focus each week. We are taking it step by step due to this being a long unit for informational writing.
February 20th- 24th
*Informational Writing on topic continues
February 13th- February 16th
*We will continue to do our best to fit in writing this week. This is a short week and we have diagnostic testing scheduled two days this week.
February 6th- February 10th
*I love writing and I love teaching my students how to write. I am able to fit in writing two to three times a week due to our packed schedule preparing for FSA. We are always writing for different tasks each day though.
*Last Friday we started putting together our graphic organizers to help us write our informational piece of writing. This week we will continue to finish these graphic organizers, so we can start writing our five paragraph informational piece.
*Our graphic organizers will help us understand where we need more information. What subtopic needs more research?
* Any research you can print out, or books you can send in really help a lot. The technology is very limited in our classrooms.
January 30th- February 3rd
*Continue research and begin to organize our writing with graphic organizers. This will help us understand how our writing will connect.
January 23rd- 30th
*Last week was a packed week. It was a four day week, and we had our talent show all morning on Friday. Therefore, we were not able to get in to writing like I wanted to.
* This week we will be using the lab and books on our topic to research.
*Students will start writing their essays next week. Writing an informational piece will also help them understand why main idea is so important as an author.
January 16th- January 20th
*Last week we went to the media center to learn about tools to use for research.
*This week we will start our research and learn about introductions.
January 9th- 13th

December 12th- 16th

October 24th- 28th
-We are working hard on our DBQ. This is a very in-depth process, so I am doing it with them. We are almost finished analyzing the documents. Please let your child tell you all about what we have leaned about him so far.
October 17th- October 21st
*DBQ writing
October 10th- October 14th
*Due to school being out two days last week, we will continue last week’s plans. We have WOW Wednesday this week, so there will only be three full days of instruction this week. Therefore, we will make up last week.
October 3rd- October 7th
